A Day in Venice

Yesterday (Friday) Tori and I traveled 1.5 hours via train to Venice. We had an awesome and adventure filled-day (including extremely hot, humid weather, sudden torrential rain during dinner and almost getting off at the wrong train station).

We began our day by catching the ferry to San Giorgio (across from Plaza San Marco). There, we walked around a beautiful church (my first in Italy thus far) and going up the Bell Tower which provided amazing views of the city. When we were up there the bells began to ring and man oh man were they loud!

After a quick visit there, we took the ferry across the canal to Plaza San Marco. There, we toured Dodge’s Palace which used to house the Venice Dodge – the political head of the town. It was absolutely incredible!

Plaza San Marco was very busy!

Tori and I spent the afternoon getting lost in the city, eventually making our way to Rialto Bridge.

I seriously LOVED the buildings in Venice. I could have posted a zillion pictures, if it didn’t take so long to upload them!

Venice was the Italy I had always pictured
