An Unexpected Find: Syros

Have you ever heard of Syros? Until three days ago, I hadn’t! I have only heard of the more popular touristy destinations (Ios, Mykanos, Santorini) but never Syros. So, Syros was a very unique and unexpected find, one that Ashley and I are so happy we stumbled upon!

After leaving Ios early, we caught the ferry north four hours to Syros. Syros was originally the capital of Greece until Athens became the capital. Though smaller in size than Ios, the island is much more populated and feels more like a big city built up on a hill rather than a small island.

Ashley and I had fun exploring the island (we rented a car again) and stumbling through the twisty, steep streets.

There were a zillion beaches, all of them so beautiful!

I continued to practice my photography skills 🙂 hehe

From Syros we headed to Naxos (another new island!). Photos coming soon!
